Marriage Preparation for Cathedral Parishioners
The Catholic Diocese of Spokane's policy is that we require six months advance notice to allow sufficient time for preparation. Active membership with the parish is required.
Marriage preparation includes a pre-nuptial investigation and interview as well as personality compatibility testing, the results of which comprise much of the rest of the marriage preparation period.
In addition, couples preparing for marriage are encouraged to attend an Engaged Encounter retreat, which takes place over a weekend and occurs several times throughout the year. For more information, or to sign up for a retreat, please call (509) 850-0378.
Important: You must meet with the priest or deacon who will witness your marriage at least once BEFORE attempting to reserve your wedding date. If you have already met with a priest or deacon and you have mutually agreed on a date, please fill out the reservation form on this page. Please email Carolyn Berry at [email protected] to schedule your first appointment.
Marriage Preparation for Non-Cathedral Parishioners
Any Catholic is welcome to celebrate the Sacrament of Marriage here. However, if you are not an active parishioner or do not reside in the Diocese of Spokane, you must approach your pastor about marriage preparation.
